Oral History Project - update

2 May 2019

We’ve collected four recordings from ex-Wellworthy employees for our oral history project so far, which is fantastic. We’ve been hearing about what it was like to work for the company, the employees from the Isle of Wight who used to get off the train at ‘Ampress Halt’, and the Christmas party from the perspective of the children who attended and the people who arranged it.

If you would like to get involved in the project, or have ideas about people who could be interviewed, please get in touch with Ruth Jenkins, who is managing the project for us: r.a.jenkins@hotmail.co.uk.

We have a couple of people who are helping to produce summary transcripts of the recordings, but more are always welcome! If you’d like to find out more about what this involves, please get in touch with Rosalyn on 01590 676969 or rosalyn.goulding@stbarbe-museum.org.uk.
