Help to make Poppies for Remembrance Day
11 October 2018
St Barbe will also be commemorating Remembrance Day; the signing of the armistice between the Allies and Germany at 11am on 11 November 1918 - the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. Our tribute will be in the form of a window display in the McCarthy room which will show a silent soldier and a whole array of poppies.
We would like the people of Lymington to join in our commemoration by contributing a homemade Poppy. It could be made from tissue, felt, wool or paper, it could be drawn, crochet, knitted, cut out… whatever you feel like doing. We’d like this to be a real special community project with locals of all ages joining in to remember not just those who fought, but what they fought for.
People can to drop their Poppy contribution to the museum any day between 10am-5pm by 1 November please.
Do come along to see our Remembrance Day window which will be displayed between 2 - 11 November.
Any questions please do contact the St Barbe team on 01590 676969.
