Leaving a Legacy
As an independent charity that has always had to rely on its own resources, St Barbe understands the precarious nature of arts and cultural funding, the need for income generation, and the importance of grants and philanthropy.
The need for financial sustainability is something the Museum takes extremely seriously.
How a gift in your Will can help St Barbe
Leaving St Barbe a gift in your Will provides not just future income for the Museum but also financial security – an incredible gift in itself. St Barbe will use your legacy gift to build a £1.5 million endowment fund, which would generate annual funds needed to guarantee the running of St Barbe in perpetuity.
Leaving a gift in your Will to St Barbe needn’t be daunting. Whether you intend to write a Will for the first time, or wish to make an amendment to an existing Will, St Barbe always recommends speaking to a professional solicitor in the first instance. However, if you would like to have an initial conversation with us about your thoughts, to discuss how we would use your gift, and the different ways in which we could recognise your generosity, please do get in touch. You are under no obligation to tell St. Barbe about your plans, and of course you may change your mind if circumstances change, but nevertheless the knowledge that you are planning to leave a legacy to St Barbe is very helpful.
