St Barbe was the first museum in Hampshire with Government Indemnity Standard galleries which enables us to borrow nationally and internationally important works of art. Consequently, St Barbe has blazed a trail of innovative exhibition programming, earning a reputation as one of the outstanding galleries in the south.
We now have even more and even better gallery space than before, and an exhibition programme to match. We’ll continue to show work on loan from Tate, V&A, British Museum, National Maritime Museum, Imperial War Museum, Government Art Collection, Arts Council, Ashmolean Museum and Southampton City Art Gallery as well as important private collections.
Your company could be the sponsor of one of our upcoming exhibitions, benefiting from marketing and PR opportunities and client entertainment. We can create a package of benefits suited to your exact requirements.

A Printmaker’s Journey by Angie Lewin
30 September- 25 November
Artist Angie Lewin has a unique vision of the natural world. Her hugely popular prints and textile designs depict in intricate detail the native flora of a variety of environments, from salt marsh and Highland loch to flower-strewn meadow and wild garden.
This exhibition features a wealth of Angie’s work alongside paintings, prints, ceramics and sculpture by artists who have influenced her including Eric Ravilious, Edward Bawden, Gertrude Hermes and Monica Poole.
“Inspired by both the cliff tops and saltmarshes of the North Norfolk coast and the Scottish Highlands ... these landscapes are often glimpsed through intricately detailed plant forms.” Angie Lewin
